The thing with rigid MTBs is that you really have to learn how to RIDE! You have to think on the fly. You have to really think about your line choices, because you don't have suspension to bail you out of your stupidity.
Who says rigids don't rock?
I've walked on wet rock's through small rivers and they have great grip, they feel comfortable too, I don't know how different they get from MTE-1 to MTE-3 but they are great. Best wishes 🤙
A metal frame must be easy to modifie. it's the video i whant to see.
Chains don't stretch they wear out.
I have an Fx3 Disc Large that i just setup for bikepacking. Ive been wanting to a kit for it and there is no videos out there with an FX3 for a middrive... Kinda bummed now. Hub motors dont work because i have thru axles. ANd the middgrive is what i want but this mean i have to destroy my bottom bracket. The other thing i wonfer is how heavy the setup is. What weight it all is so that counts towards how much stuff i can pack. And if im touring how much harder is pedaling when not using the motor. Because im looking at 50 mile trips with no recharges. So alot of it would be pedal only. I want the ebike for my commute to work everyday. And for a little boost on hills only when im touring.
Never been a fan of Drop bars, going to build my gravel bike with flat bars or maybe a slight rise.
I'm late to the party but i like this. When i buy a random bike i like the colour of (my main motivation now) i just clean everything and throw tyres on it then change things after i ride it and figure out what i want to change.
I rode technical downhill trails for years in Arizona on a non suspended Cannondale Beast of the East. My buddy put a Rock Shox fork on his bike but I resisted for a long time. "My elbows and knees are my suspension." I said. My buddy thought a moment and then before riding off, he said, "Well however much suspension you have with your elbows, I have 2 inches more!"
Excellent option! Thank you
1:55 - He has this "window of time", where he wears Angela's leopard pants? Apparently. It's the REAL embarrassment! Edit #2: He's addicted to the E-bike.
Just got a NS soda slope. I jabbed my knee hard on my bmx following my boy on a line. Super stoaked on the rear shock doing its job and helping my old back and knees. Can’t wait to teach my kids to ride street. I gotta say tho for the old guys it gets easier the more you ride. I’m back at it now on the 3rd year. Worse case get a E MTB and fall in love like you where 16.
Really like yr honesty here, also talking about the vain part: everyone wants their bike to look good (which is slightly different for any rider)...
If you change the beltring you might also need a shorter belt… It’s expensive . bummer, it’s hard to adjust your gear ratio.
Felt back in the bmx days wasn't the worst really, they made ok bmx in the late 90 early 00s
Just subscribed, 3 years later 🤪,gonna build spec hardrock pro 2005 😊thanks for motivation and ideas
which tires and wheels are there?
I think it's cool that your wife lets you borrow her leopard pants to go riding.
Those drop outs could be retro fitted to a steel frame 🤯 Top grand tinkering
I tried dirt jumping for the first time and it was not bad I love it I wanna do it 8 times a week now😂
The thing I love about ridged steel bike frames is control! You feel everything but have that much more to respond to. Takes some bent elbows or your shoulders are going to hurt. I love my 90’s Trek.
I have a 2015 Santa Cruz 5010 C v1, it’s a 10 year old carbon fiber full suspension. My friend rented a 2024 Santa Cruz 5010 c v5, I rode the rental bike and it felt way different from mine, way better at climbing and soaked up jumps a lot better, that being said I still rode faster
I hope the next gen model has gears, and a removable battery. That would make it perfect!
Are we, the viewers, going to allow him to threaten us with longer than 20 min. uploads? Hell yeah.
Usaully felts are really nice
That felt lookd like a walmart special or sears used to have a iron horse full suspension from sears miss that p.o.s it was a nice bike but the cranks sucked
My status build was is clean so why do i want to ride this Mad Max bike so bad
55yo Here in MO. Brand New Subscriber! Question.. Can you do a Review on the Ozark Trail "RIDGE" 29" Large Frame from Walmart? I work there, and I'm trying to afford a Starter Mountain/Trail Bike. I literally Built 12 Bikes Today, because Walmart's Bike Guy sucks, and I'm always having to Tune them up. And Im broke! lol Just Wondering if the Ozark Trail Ridge is a Good Starting point. Berm Peak has done some Reviews... Can you do one?
these tips are insane .
They don’t do it because they are afraid people will actually buy it
Best shoe review ever
I’ve ridden both .. and from my experience, I’ll give my OWN opinion .. if you’re over 35 and haven’t ridden in over a decade ( like in my case ) then go with the dirt jumper .. if you’re still in your 20’s or younger, BMX is a safe and cheaper bet for you!!! Like I said , just my opinion 🤙🏻 in my older years ( I’ll be 40 this year ) I need the extra suspension and bigger wheels .. more control, and I’m strictly riding dirt and trails .. I wouldn’t touch a skate park these days 😂
Missed opportunity to title the video "Hot Dog Cooking Contest" 😂
As a roadster owner thanks for all the info. Can you please try some 650b rims on one of those?!? 🙏
You’re using the wrong tool for the job
Here I am wondering why I didn't watch this before I jammed my right pedal in my left crank.
i'm okay with full suspension bikes being mostly above $1500 new because it makes used bikes somewhat more valuable and in demand (in theory), and less disposable (maybe?)
It's incredible how I can watch him perform relatively advanced bicycle tricks on his ramp, and KNOW I could do the same, if I'd only try, fail, and when healthy, try again. I literally can't stop myself from imagining how each trick is executed, though most I have never done.
SOMEBODY obviously needs Sticker Therapy. - Minimum 2 sessions.
Man I wish I had of seen you on the road
👍 nice
It sounds like most dropped off after lack of “drop bar” content..
Well cool. Your shop has all the wrong parts…you have 11speed cassette and shifters which is not what you have on your build…glad I figured that out now after ordering from watching your other video
Very nice old school is the best.
